Deborah obtained her Florida real estate license in June 2002 and has maintained active status as a Realtor specializing in the commercial sector in Northwest Florida. She has extensive experience, as well, in buying and selling investment property throughout the United States.
From 1996 to 2001, Deborah was Chief Executive Officer of O2ideas, Inc. a full-service marketing communications/public relations firm in Birmingham, Alabama. As CEO, she was responsible for strategic planning, financial management and agency operations. During her tenure as CEO, annual capitalized billings increased from twelve million to over one hundred million.
Deborah administered several accounts including Parisian, Books-A-Million, Home Depot (Expo Division), divisions of Verizon Wireless including California, Seattle/Spokane, Midwest and Southeast regions, Colonial Properties, Inc., Carraway Methodist Hospital, divisions of Sheraton Hotels and others.
In 2001, Deborah sold her interest in O2ideas, Inc. and resumed her consulting practice working initially with Burr, Patterson & Auld, Inc., a jewelry manufacturing company in Indiana. Deborah’s consulting efforts in corporate development/sales and marketing led to a full-time position in 2002. In June 2004, Burr Patterson & Auld, Inc. was acquired by Herff Jones, Inc. and, as a condition of the sale, was retained as marketing consultant for three years to facilitate the business transition. Her contract obligations were fulfilled in June 2007.
Prior to 1996, Deborah was President of the Zimmerman Group, Inc. providing marketing and financial management consulting services for various corporations, foundations and individuals in Birmingham, Alabama. From 1991 to 1996, she was a partner in Capobianco Associates, providing merger and acquisition services in the advertising industry.
Deborah received a B.A. (1979) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, an M.B.A. (1990) from the University of Alabama, and completed the Certified Financial Planner Education Program (College for Financial Planning, Denver, CO) in May 1997.
