Going home! Sounds great, doesn’t it?
Billie, one of those rare Floridians born in Tallahassee, found her family misplaced in the Midwest for 25-plus years. In early 2002, going home (to Florida) became their mantra!
Back to Tallahassee? Tampa area (where they’d spent 9 years)? A southern Florida coastal town? Boca Raton, where their son settled? Floridas Panhandle?
2003, time for a Florida tour! Starting in Destin, site of family vacations through Tallahassee, down I-75 to the Tampa Bay area, on to Ft. Myers across the state to Boca Raton area, up the east coast across central part of state, back to Destin. Destin home of friendly folks bounded by the most beautiful, emerald green waters, bordered by sugary, crystal-white sands, fishing that’s lucky enough to draw sports fishermen from all over the country, the world.
Decision made. There’s no place like North Florida’s Panhandle! Destin would be our next home!
In 2004, home found! The process went smoothly and today Billie would like folks searching for their next home or vacation spot to have that same experience; to be able to open the front door and say, Ah! Home!
A varied background in accounting retail sales, stocking/searching for special items for antiques shop, booth volunteer in her church music, choir singer, genealogy researcher (thinks a cemetery is filled with stories!), events planner (from reunions to retail festivals). Has spent early years with her husband searching for a perfect Caribbean island. Now, loves road trips, looking for the perfect main-street towns in the U.S. Her favorite channel is HGTV, especially the international home search shows; learning that American citizenry is so blessed compared to international folks seeking their perfect home.
